Just wondering how this simple, not so pretty forum suits your fancy. I just wanted a forum where people could leave comments that are actually helpful, cheerful and fun...

Definitely prefer this simpler and cleaner format Bill...and the lack of abundant red-tape that goes along with it. As long as the various threads stay somewhat on-topic as well, it will be a lot easier to navigate and stay up-to-date as it gains members, posts and topics.
Would be a good opportunity for you to target some newbies, novice and intermediate bidders as well, given that the format may lend itself better to a support-system for such bidders, compared to the maze of others.
Just sayin

Hello my king! Glad to be here! I just want to give you some a back story and then some advice from a former forum owner (except I used a company called forumup.us, not proboards).
My forum was a Yorkshire Terrier forum. Hmmm, I wonder why? LOL Anyway, you'd probably think, what kind of problems would you have on a cute doggy forum? Yeah, okay! I made the forum b/c of all the drama on the big Yorkie forum. I figured, I'm pretty good at the computer, friends with everyone, how hard can this be? Everything started off great...and then everything the sh*tstorm begins. This one is fighting with this one, this one is threatening this one via private messaging, this one is threatening to sue, this one isn't sending their secret santa gifts, this one is a backyard breeder, and on and on. I tried to be the mediator, but I couldn't take it anymore. Especially after I was getting threatened to be sued for banning a person and I saw them writing on another forum about me and actually defaming my character and writing where I work and so forth that I got my own lawyer! After that, they had to take that down from the forum. It was just too much for me and not worth it.
My advice? 1. Don't try to compete with any other forum. And don't badmouth any other forum or owner even if you have a falling out with them. The Internet is big enough for us all. And seeing this is a free forum and you are not out to make money on it, best is to let people come here to have fun. 2. This whole forum administrating is not worth stressing over and being threatened in anyway. All the friends I knew who started their own side Yorkie forums (I joined them all) have now closed up shop b/c of all the BS. I'm sure you don't need the extra stress. 3. Don't YOU stop going to PAW. Unless you have to wear the scarlet letter! haha. PAW is really where all the information is. But, it's not as hopping as it used to be. I'm not saying b/c it's boring or any such thing. I don't know why, really. And for someone, who will remain nameless, to blame US to be a mob is just ludicrous. I'm still shaking my head over that and am highly insulted. But, I did equate his behavior to Hitler, so maybe this person felt the need to get me back. Who knows.
Anywhoooo, let's have fun here and have it be stress free! And I wish you GOOD LUCK! Because I wouldn't want to be another forum admin nor a moderator!

I cant wait for PAW to come back up (if it does). I am nowhere near finished giving him a piece of my mind... He is the reason for this forum... I will not tolerate that kind of action here. Not from me, nor from anyone else. The threats I can handle, because I hold the delete button...lol As far as dragging the forum through the mud on other forums, I just have to say they can have at it... Midpenny has proved many times, that it is good for business when they do that...lol Stress, this is my (our) world, and we will keep it stress free! The rules are throughout the board... They are quite simple, as I like simplicity... 1. No site bashing, 2. No personal bashing, 3. Keep it clean! We should all be able to do this...lol
